Avenger Cover Convo!

So coming out April 2013 is Heather Burch's new book (Halflings #3) AVENGER!!!! And o.m.g is the cover just amazing! (btw, Guardian got a new cover too check it out in the cover convo page) That has got to be the coolest shade of purple I have ever seen! Wow. :) And Nikki looks kick-butt baby! Oh yeah! :) She kind of reminds me of Black Widow in the Avengers. With the way she standing and all. So, Ms. Heather I have no idea who your cover designer is but he/she needs a raise because this is just amazing! I'm so excited to read this book!

And here 6 questions on Heather Burch's author interview:

1: How long have you been writing?

Forever, I think. I wrote my first story at about age six. My mom sent it into the newspaper and they printed it. But until I got the idea for Halflings, I wasn’t writing YA although my books seemed to always have teenagers in them.

2:Was there a specific message you wanted to get across in Halflings?

I wanted to write a story you couldn't put down. Halflings is all about sacrifice. The deeper the sacrifice, the more haunting the story. I've watched people make incredible sacrifices—life changing ones—and I’m humbled by that. Sacrifice is beautiful.

3:Who was your favorite character in the book?

Oh, that’s so hard to say. I can tell you this, I really have a soft spot for Vine. Everything he’s discovering in book one paves the way for his own story later on.

4: Who was the easiest to write?

Raven. Always Raven. He’s an author’s dream because he keeps things interesting and churned up.

5: Who was the hardest?

Mace. He’s so stoic and strong. Hard to find a lot of flaws with wonder boy. I love him. But he didn’t make my job easy.

6: Are you working on another book now? If so, would you like to tell us what it is about?

Book 2, Guardian, is complete and will release in October. I’m so excited to share the next installment of the Halflings Series. Book Three,Avenger, is also done and will release next spring.

Here’s a little about Guardian: The mission to safeguard Nikki Youngblood depends on the fragile alliance of two half-angel, half-human guardians, both struggling with intense feelings for the girl who has been assigned to their care. Mace, steadfast and deeply in love, wants to protect Nikki at all costs, while Raven's loyalty to Nikki finds him advocating for her independence and battling his own darker inclinations. OMG omg omg omg! This movie was Radical!!! Seriously, if you haven't seen it you need to. Like right now. : ) It was non-stop action from beginning to end and if you go watch it be sure to stay for about 5 minutes after it ends because there's a sneak peek to prepare for THE AVENGERS 2!!!! :O My life is complete now. I have no idea who was my favorite super hero. I liked them all. If I was superhero (ha ha) I would probably be a cross between IronMan and Hawkeye. Some people just have too strict a view on life, so I would be the snarky, sarcastic Tony Stark-like comedian complete with Hawkeye's super-cool Bow and Arrows. : ) Have you seen the movie? Did you like it?

The Avengers!

Movie notice of this week? The Avengers! Coolio! My whole family has been waiting months for this movie to come out! But because we didn't buy tickets it'll probably be sold out. :( So we won't be able to go see it until a week later. It comes out May 4th. And looks totally awesome! Are you going to see it?

Cover Conversation #2: Insurgent by Veronica Roth

WOW!!!!  The book cover just keep getting better for this series! Here's the first one:

Do you agree with me? Divergent's cover was the bomb, but Insurgent's cover is just about AMAZING!!! This cover designer should be paid a LOT of money because they are awesome at their job! :O

Little Side Note here: Divergent means, "different from something else", Insurgent means,"someone who rebels against authority or leadership." Appropriate titles, huh?!

I love the colors on Insurgent better than Divergent too. And I'm guessing that Insurgent is dealing with Amity (the peaceful) because of the tree on the cover (the tree is Amity's symbol). And I know I'm really early with this cover conversation but I wanted to do it before Insurgent was released. :) If Ms. Roth gets 35,000 pre-orders she is releasing another book from Tobias's (Four's) perspective! *NOTE: I have no idea what is in this book! I do not know if it is clean or not!*

Nevermore's cover!

(I know it's not Tuesday. but i have karate early Tuesday morning. so lots of my cover conversations will be put up Monday afternoon or night)

It's our first cover conversation and the cover discussed today is Nevermore by James Patterson.

     First of all this is NOT what I had in mind for the final Maximum Ride book. It doesn't even flow with the other covers. If that's supposed to be Max then I have no comment other than, "WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!" *facepalm* And if that's not supposed to be Max then who is it? Dylan's other perfect that takes Max's place? She shows up really late in the series! And what teenager either has or dyes they're hair white?
    And second, this doesn't even look like a real person. It looks like a cover for a manga book. I think maybe Patterson's going a little bit crazy to pick this as his final cover.(not to mention he forgot his own release date) Still it's a cover and that means that the book is getting ready to come out! YAY!! : D
I just hope the book is better than its cover and it's back blurb. Trust me, the back blurb is horrible! It's maybe 6 lines and that just because Patterson

*Fascinating Fact: Did you know that Nevermore (Maximum Ride #8) was originally supposed to be released in February of 2012? It says so at the end of Angel (Maximum Ride #7) but Patterson must have forgotten about something because the book doesn't come out until 6 MONTHS LATER!*

Hunger Games Exclusive!

I was perusing YouTube for anything Hunger Games :) and I found this little clip only 39 seconds long of one of my favorite scenes in the book! Check it out!

The Lorax.

What came out Friday, March 2? The Lorax, of course! So my Dad (who had a hole burning in his Fandango gift card) took us to see The Lorax and here's my review:

Starring: Danny DeVito (sp), Taylor Swift, Zac Efron

     

           Although this movie had a few good parts it was really just the government trying to brainwash people into thinking that Big Corporations are bad people that cut down trees. And how we should "Save the trees" Don't get me wrong, I'm not against not cutting down trees I don't like seeing tons of trees cut down but one or two is fine. But I certainly don't see most of these Big Corporations as people who are destroying the earth. The Lorax was Hollywood's (who also is a Big Corporation) way of turning the Little Kids of America into Little Greenie-Wienies of America. This movie did have some cute parts but the stuff I mentioned above and the all the singing (really, it was almost a musical) bugged me.

Movie Monday!!!

Friday's movie release. (that I hopefully will be going to see...:) Friday, February 10th, the new movie coming out into theaters is.....(drum roll, please).....Journey 2.....(confetti is now falling from the sky)! YAY! I thought the movie trailer was super funny and Journey 2 is directed by the same people who directed Journey to the Center of the Earth and I loved that movie! :) Louis Guzman, Dwayne Johnson, Josh Hutcherson, and Vannessa Hudgens are the main actors in Journey 2. Check out the awesome movie trailer on youtube or IMDb and comment below to tell me that you are going. I just want to know that I'm not the only one looking forward to this movie (and us blogger <3 comments)! :D

As you know I am the BIGGEST Hunger Games fan. (just ask my poor mom as she deals with a very ecstatic teenager blabbing on and on and on alllllll day about the hunger games. luckily, she still has some hair) And well I learned that there is a BRAND NEW movie trailer out for it. Hope in 2012?

     Is there Hope in 2012? I know just about everyone has heard that the end of the world is December 2012. Right. If you haven't heard about it let me clue you in. Centuries ago the Mayan Indians 'prophesied' that the end of the world would occur in the year two thousand and twelve. This year. Alot of people are freaking out about it. How is the the world going to end? Will anyone survive? What will happen after the world ends? Stuff like that. Alot of people are freaking out because they don't want to die. Why are they freaking out? Answer: They don't have peace.  Do you have peace? If  not I can show you how to get peace. You need God. He is the only one who can give you eternal peace. I know what you're thinking. "There she goes. Preaching at me." or "I'm a good person I don't have to get saved because I haven't done anything wrong." or "I'll get saved when I'm old. No reason to get saved now only old people die."
God doesn't judge you according to your works and LOTS of people die before the age of 20 and I'm not preaching at you I'm warning you because I care about you. Here's how to have peace for EVER! 

John 3:16--For God so loved the World that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

(everlasting life! You'll live FOREVER! How cool is that?)

Romans 3:23--For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

(Everyone's sinned and NO ONE is good enough to get to Heaven without Him)

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

(Just believe and ask Him to save you! He'll do it, if you believe!)
