Preamble to the U.S. Constitution:
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of
America.

When in course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.—Such has been he patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government.

Funny Fact:
The American army, when fighting the British, went into battle whistling “Yankee Doodle.” When the British retreated from Concord, General Gage (for the British) yelled out, “I HOPE I NEVER HEAR THAT TUNE AGAIN!!!” Unfortunately for him, after the British's defeat at Yorktown, an American Band accompanied the British off the field at Yorktown, playing……YANKEE DOODLE!
